I was contacted by a recruiter and connected with another team member to set up an initial phone screening. The first call was rescheduled just five minutes before it was supposed to begin. No problem—these things happen. However, the recruiter then missed the rescheduled call entirely, later explaining they had mixed up the date.
When we finally connected on the third try, the conversation itself went really well. I came away excited about the company and the role, and was told my information would be passed along to the hiring manager, who typically responds within a couple of days.
Unfortunately, I never heard anything back. I followed up several times with both the recruiter I spoke to and the original person who reached out, but received no response.
I understand that priorities shift and hiring needs can change, but completely ghosting a candidate—especially one who has invested time and effort into the process—is unacceptable. A simple, courteous note would have gone a long way.
