working as a leasing consultant if a prospect says an apartment across the street is offering cheaper rent, i would explain to the prospect yes their rent might be 50 dollars cheaper but we offer washer and dryers in all our units, vaulted ceilings, and have a fitness center. everything that the apartments across the streets don't have to offer.
