I would handle the situation calmly. If the customer was still upset I would ask the pharmacist on staff to step in and take over.

I would listen to their complaint without interrupting. By allowing them get their point across I would be better able to address the issue. Using "Ma'am or Sir" in a calm understanding tone should calm the customer down enough so that I can help them sort out the problem. If I personally am not able to sort it out, I would seek out the manager on duty to see if there is anything we could do to keep the costumer coming back.
