I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Huawei Technologies (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2018
Interview
Applied for Chinese positions on campus by end of 2017. Recruiter came to my college campus for interview. Interview is mostly about previous experience and explaining things on resume. There were no technical questions as I recall. The interviewer was satisfied with me and he said that he wanted to take me in. The Overall experience until this point is pleasent.
However, things got a little bit messy afterwards. They told me that several different groups will be calling me and see if I am a good fit specifically for their group. And a few groups of people called me without scheduling time with me. I didn't miss them, but I also didn't perform as well since I was doing work and did not plan to talk at all at those times.
Things got especially nasty when a better team told me that they would want me at the end of their phone call, and ask me to turn down offers from other teams when they call. So I did and got no offers from other teams. But in the end it turned out that the good team did not take me in and I was instead threw into a team where I did not want to go. ???????? I talked to them and asked what happened, and all of them just said "Oh it's bad, I will look into it" and no more reply.
It was lucky that Huawei was only my backup plan. I will still apply for Huawei if I ever want to go to China, but I will apply with greater caution.
two interviews; in the first interview, they asked CV-related questions; in the second, it was behavioral and asked for cultural fit. The second interview was with the Chinese manager, and it was a one-to-one interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The company requires long working hours. How do you feel about this?
It went smooth, 2 OA, 1 HR Call, 1 Technical Call, 1 Manager Call. All went well, they ask based on your title and field. SO get prepared for what you are applying for like which position you know.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Huawei Technologies (Düsseldorf)
Interview
Getting an invitation for a phone interview was very unexpected for me given that my CV is not linear. The interviewer was incredibly disrespectful. I was shocked about how aggressively she talked to me. I have never experienced something like that. She was treating me like I did something wrong or like she was trying to set me up for failure? She said to me if the interview goes well you will hear from us otherwise you won’t. So not even a rejection mail.
