I was corresponding with someone from a different department (developer) regarding Human Resources issues which rather puzzled me because the position was applying for was in HR (I later found out that she is not in HR).
She was "instructed" to sit there and just observe whilst the main interviewer asked all the questions. I must say, although soft-spoken with a sense of authority (which I liked) her demeanor was rather off-putting and I found to be condescending.
I did not answer a question about "what I know about the company" as I imagine she would have wanted it be answered - to which she later remarked that after the interview I should do research on their company.
As part of my sales pitch, I referenced information I obtained from their website to which she offered a different response every single time, which made question whether I am interviewing at the wrong Hubble Studio.
It seemed as if they were unprepared and winging it. Although professional, there was a lack of respect and openness. There were times when they would stare around looking at people behind whilst I was talking to which I found disrespectful.
I have to say that I appreciated them moving my interview an hour up since I was running late because of delayed trains.
The image presented on their website regarding their culture is quite open, chilled and inviting but they do not exude the same traits during the interview which posed as a big red flag for me.
Although I spent a great deal of time preparing for the interview and excited, the main interviewer's demeanor completely crushed my spirits... I had to fight back the urge to respond accordingly and call her out on her behavior (diplomatically of course) but naturally I was concerned that would disqualify me.
