I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at IMC Trading (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2016
Interview
Flew to Chicago for on-site interview. Everyone was very nice and respectful throughout the whole process. Technical questions weren't very difficult, mostly what you learn in school. Company headquarters is extremely well-presented.
Pretty tough and long, you have to go through several behavioral and technical interview steps. The later interviews are pretty long and tedious, and require you to interview with real engineers there
Quick response, got the mail for the first coding round within 2 weeks of application. They asked for transcripts prior to the coding round. Once you receive the email you have 72 hours to attempt it. The test is for 180 minutes.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IMC Trading (Chicago, WI) in Dec 2019
Interview
I was asked to finish two online technical assessments after I submitted my application. The first one is to measure general aptitude, digital logic knowledge, and the ability to complete practical applications of key hardware skills (have 27 min to complete the test). The second one is about RTL coding, and I had 150 min to finish it.
