After an intial phone screening form the recruiter I got called back for a four-hour on-site interview. I met separately with: the recruiter, two software engineers, two tech writers, a product manager (phone interview), the hiring manager, and the hiring manager's boss. Then I took an hour writing test on a PC, which consisted of a half hour of copyediting and a half hour of FrameMaker editing. I was impressed that I met with that many people--it felt very thorough. The recruiter said my salary was within the position's range, but she did not state what they were offering. *No one* has offices there; everyone has a cubicle, FYI. They have a gym, cafeteria, and covered parking; new building. They offer up to 3% 401(k) matching + cheaper insurance if you are healthy. The people seemed smart and friendly. They interviewed two others and went with someone who had more software experience that the job required. The recruiter said for me to keep looking as the company is posting Q2 jobs soon.
