I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Imperial Oil (Calgary, AB)
Interview
First round was on campus, about 45 minutes. ASked about typical situational questions and at the end asked about if there's anything that I would like to add that they didn't mention. Make sure you take a moment and try to add something that will potentially sell you. Answer in the "STAR" format, answers should link your work or school experience with the skills sets that they are looking for.
-How did you resolve a conflict with someone
-how have you managed stress
-how have you dealt with a difficult person
-success story about demonstrating technical skills
-how have you dealt with a situation that was bound to fail
-favourite/least favourite courses
Second interview
meet with 3 people, first one is a mentor and takes you out for lunch and doesn't actually inerview you. second and third will be managers and format are similar to the first interview, but it will be more conversational. seems like they really want to know your personality (your motivation, ethics, ambition, interpersonal skills etc) so be prepared to talk about your values and beliefs
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Has anyone ever asked you or put you into a situation where your ethical decision making is jeopardized? How have you dealt with it?
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Imperial Oil (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2013
Interview
Behavioural based interview questions. You have to meet three different managers and they will have different sets of scenarios for you to answer. It is an entire day process. They provide you lunch and a recent hire to seat with you throughout the day to keep you company.
