I was contacted by a recruiter via Indeed, and initially, all was well. I let him know I was interested in the role and we exchanged some niceties. The recruiter (who ironically was a consultant) out of nowhere asked me if I was looking for a consulting role or a full-time in house role. While I currently work as a consultant (at someone else's firm, hence I'm a free agent), it seemed bizarre and frankly silly that he asked, especially since it was already well-established that it was a FTE role. I saw that the recruiter was super new to the nonprofit industry as well, and was super turned off by the interaction (as well as his lack of a robust LinkedIn profile. Sorry, if you're a recruiter, please have a picture and more than 15 connections.) He also never said what the salary was so I'm glad I dodged a bullet. I can tell Inova doesn't take fundraising and DEI very seriously. Consulting for fundraisers is very common, and it's not unheard of for someone to consult and then want to go back in-house.
