I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Hillsboro, OR) in Jun 2011
Interview
I was approached after a school presentation of an Intel sponsored studio, after answering some easy questions about my thoughts on design and what I hoped to do after school, I was asked to fly up to Portland for an official interview.
Intel flew me up to Portland, I got a rental car and drove out to Hillsboro. It was a full day of interviews with different members of the team, they showed me what the cubicles looked like. Later when I arrived for my first day of work I was sat at a very different looking cubicle, much smaller and much greyer and far from any window.
Everyone was friendly and intelligent, it was fun to show them examples from my portfolio to answer their questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The manager hiring me seemed to be working off a UI job description. He was asking me questions about skills that a graphic designer or digital arts major would have.
The initial interview process was well-structured, allowing me to demonstrate my expertise and problem-solving abilities effectively. The panel asked insightful questions that not only assessed my technical capabilities but also delved into my thought process, design thinking, and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. The questions were thought-provoking and challenged me to think beyond conventional boundaries, enabling me to showcase my creativity and adaptability.
