Awful company to interview with. I had set up a phone interview and the interviewer called over an hour later than the scheduled time. Her excuse was just that she was busy. She complained about being so short staffed and that nobody was showing up to their interviews.
Additionally, the job posting was deceiving in multiple ways. It said the job was in Kalamazoo, but I later found that it was in Bangor. This wouldn’t have been much of a problem since the job description said it was a hybrid role that requires 2 days in the office. I was willing to make that commute. After talking, she told me that if I were to be hired I would need to come in every day because they were so short staffed and they have employees on leave. I was being very flexible and said I’d be okay with this short term, but was really looking for a hybrid or remote position, so I asked how long I would need to be in the office. She just replied that other employees are on vacation or maternity leave and she couldn’t tell me a definite timeline.
All of these things combined was just a huge red flag to me. At the end of the call she said she’d call in the next few days with a decision & more information. I didn’t hear anything back. A week later I had gotten a rejection email.
Overall it was a very negative experience and I would not recommend applying with this company to anyone. Good talent starts with recruiters and if this is how all applicants are treated I see why they are having trouble with staffing.
