Interviewed 3 times in person, twice in the office, and another informal meeting outside of the office. Met with several people of various positions and felt it all went very well. Communication wasn’t great, which could have been a disconnect between the hiring manager and recruiter. Based on my interview experience, meeting multiple times in person over the course of a month, and feedback from the recruiter, I did expect an offer. I was told I’d hear back by a certain day, and I didn’t, so I followed up with the recruiter and was told they wanted to continue looking at candidates. The recruiter and I were both surprised to hear that, but I hope they found the right candidate. I have since been hired at a different company that made an offer after meeting once virtually. Interviewing in person requires much more time of the candidate than the interviewer, and it would be more respectful to candidates if they would limit the number of interviews, or if they had a better process for determining which candidates go to the “next round”.
