      Principal Product Designer Interview

      Jan 19, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      San Diego, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intuit (San Diego, CA) in Oct 2018

      Interview

Very professional recruiting staff. Process for design recruiting is typically: 1. Apply with a compelling portfolio 2. Recruiter screen phone call 3. Hiring manager phone interview - technical + cultural design questions and a portfolio review 4. All day onsite interview - including a portfolio presentation and design exercise presentation to a group, lunch interview with manager, multiple design technical interviews, and a culture interview. Be prepared to spend 4-6 hours during the onsite. Everyone is very friendly and considerate throughout the entire interview process. I never felt rushed or heavily criticized. Make sure you prepare well in advance and be ready to explain the rationale and impact of all your work.
