Phone interview and onsite interview co-ordinated by their off-site HR department. I was invited for on-site interview the day after my tele-interview. Planning, organization was excellent. However, there appeared to be some disconnect within the organization. The employees who were critical to the selection process were not available on the day my interview was fixed. An adhoc interview team was created. No one in the team had any idea on what role I was interviewing for, where I would be placed. I did not hear from the HR or recruiter for over 3 weeks, against promised response time of maximum 15 days. After repeated calls, recruiter responded that the position had been eliminated after organization restructuring. The restructuring had been underway even when I had my first telephonic interview. In my opinion, instead of being hasty the hiring manager and HR should have waited till the reorganization was complete and then arranged for the onsite interview.
As for the company nice work culture, great environment. Most of the people I interviewed with ( even the directors) were friendly and made me feel at ease during the entire interview process. What I liked about the interviewers was that they appreciated the fact that I come from a totally different industry and they rephrased questions in a way that prompted me to think back to the basics and respond. This is as opposed to interviewers who are looking for buzz words in their response and don't care whether you know the basics behind the product design and operation.
