I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at J D Wetherspoon (Worcester, England) in Jul 2016
Interview
A friendly, casual interview that was over in 25 minutes. The guy asked me a few questions about myself and how I would cope in certain situations. Told me a lot more about why it's such a great pub to work in! I was called back 2 days later and offered a trial for a Saturday evening. I shadowed someone, giving out food and tidying tables and then got the chance to do some bar work. It was busy but the lady I was with was so lovely and patient. I was told I would hear back by Monday and still hasn't heard by Tuesday so I gave them a call and they offered me the position (told me they had been too busy to call me the day before - very understandable!)
I can't wait to get stuck in

Interview
Well done, organised, respectful and overall a good interview process that felt fair for the role I was going for. The managers where honest about what the role would be like
I applied online. I interviewed at J D Wetherspoon (Middlesbrough, England) in Jun 2026
Interview
Needed to bring proof of right to work in the UK. Casual interview with the question being from pre written list. Was asked standard questions about what responsibilities comes with the role, what you know about the company, why you want to work with spoons, time where you showcased teamwork etc.
Very friendly, they asked me to come in for a quick chat and it was just a lot about my background and how I work within a team. Definitely not as bad as many people think, but obviously important to prepare since these jobs can be competitive,
