I applied online. I interviewed at JDRF Electromag (Mississauga, ON) in Aug 2025
Interview
I was informed that I needed to complete a one-way video interview. I was not expecting a technical assessment. Nothing wrong with that but I would assume usually employers start by getting to know the candidate through behavioral questions, or that I would be screened by HR first.
Met the recruiter in person and started by asking if they were hiring full time starting after grad. Went through 5 rounds of interviews.
1. HR Screen
2. One way interview
3. Technical assessment (Coding)
4. Technical Interview
5. CEO interview.
At every step of the process, they were aware I was intending on starting after graduating and they confirmed this with me at the start of every interview step with a real human. I was still rejected by the CEO stating that "HR jumped the gun" and that "We are looking for someone to start immediately". This company's interview process is largely one way requiring candidates to talk and type to a screen. Team is respectful in communication but not to candidates time. Highly recommend avoiding their interview process as it is lengthy, lazy and very demanding for a role that frankly doesn't compensate much.

Question 1
What's the difference between static and volatile?
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at JDRF Electromag (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2024
Interview
There was only one interview that I did. Before that I did an OA and the interview was basically asking me to improve the code so it's faster. I had like 10 seconds before he said we should move on. So, I disliked that aspect of it.
