The interview process was disorganized and left much to be desired. Similar to what another candidate described for the Growth Marketing role, my experience began smoothly with HR, but communication and professionalism declined significantly after that. HR indicated that I’d move on to the assessment stage, describing it as a simple project that wouldn’t amount to unpaid labor. However, the assignment required a full analysis of Jubilee and Nectar's Instagram accounts, including identifying strengths and weaknesses, creating a content calendar, and providing ideas with KPIs—work that a consultant would typically be compensated for. Despite completing the project, I received no follow-up. Meanwhile, they reposted the Social Media Manager and Growth Marketing roles with nearly identical descriptions, suggesting that they may be using the process to extract free labor from multiple candidates. I also had a bait and switch with the pay structure. It is listed without the pay band (illegal in California) and I wasn't told the salary range until the interview.
I am very concerned about the ethics of the company, the marketing team and HR. This process is exploitative.
