      Technical Sales Representative Interview

      Dec 21, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Keyence

      Interview

Initial screening interview on the phone, the call lasted about 15 minutes. The interviewer was pleasant. Myself being a recent graduate in engineering, she seemed to wonder why I was applying for this instead of an engineering role. This did confuse me a bit because the position was posted on my university's job portal and it said that a bachelor's degree was required, and one in a technical field was preferred. She said that their training period is quite long (which I was aware of from the job posting) and they are seeking people who will stay in the role for quite a while, though didn't give a specific length of time they wanted. I got the sense that there was concern about me not wanting to stay in the role as long as the company would like, due to my educational background.

      Interview

Very odd, one hirevue and then they fly you out to chicago. The chicago process is smooth. One interview and roll play. Great time to practice skills and continue to get better.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about yourself and to sell them a product I use everyday. They also asked for a time I showed dedication to achieve a goal.

      Interview

The interview process starts with an informational session. After that, you complete a digital interview assessment, and only those who pass move on to a traditional Zoom interview. There are definitely a lot of stages you have to pass to get to the final round.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They may conduct a mock sales conversation where you will have to sell them something. Or they may ask you what you think will be the hardest part of the job.

Good practice for the job, multiple stages involving phone screening with HR, meeting with director, then mock presentation and interview with manager. Make sure to practice discovery questions for the mock presentations to help you understand client needs.
