      Product Designer Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Kixie (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2026

      Interview

Interview Process: Multi-round process that felt extractive. Included a design challenge based on what appeared to be actual internal company problems, an onsite with both a clickable prototype and coded version, plus a second "final" round app critique added at the last minute. Onsite: 5 consecutive 45-min panels + 90-min CEO interview — no breaks, no lunch, despite running through midday. ~5 hours total. After onsite: Engineering wanted to move forward, but Sales and Marketing did not align. Instead of a decision, they scheduled a third final-round interview — invite sent the same morning, less than 8 hours before the session. Verdict: The process asks for significant unpaid design work with no clear evaluation criteria shared upfront. Last-minute scheduling showed lack of respect for candidates' time.
