Approximately a month after i submitted my application, i was initially contacted by the HR from Klarna via e-mail who asked me to perform an online logic test. Few days after, I have been invited to have a phone call with Klarna HR where I had a pleasant experience even though typical HR questions were asked. After the conversation with HR, i wanted even more to work for Klarna as she managed to give me a good overview about the company and about the Project Management department. Also the next HR recruiting steps were presented thoroughly. Next, within a day or two, i was sent a case study to work on and consequently to prepare a presentation regarding how I would manage a project based on the sent case study. There wasn't any specific deadline mentioned, but one was asked to send it back to HR once the ppt was ready. Given I was employed at a different company, i took a week until i submitted it. Next, HR scheduled a meeting for me to meet two Project Managers within Klarna whom i was asked to present the case study i worked on. I was extremely disappointed during the presentation on which i put a considerable effort and time providing the fact that both ladies seemed to be quite bored and they didn't really pay attention on my presentation. This made the interview being dull. I was asked 2 or 3 times to speed up through the slides and at the end of the presentation they asked one or two questions which were actually addressed in the presentation. At the end of the presentation they asked a mix of questions : questions pertaining the case study, typical HR questions and also general Project Management questions. The whole presentation of the case study and the Q&A was 30 min divided in 20 min for the presentation and 10 min for the Q&A.
After this time, the HR with whom i had the initial phone interview came into the room and asked me to repeat the logic test. She gave me 15 min to complete this and afterwards she came back into the room and started again a typical HR interview and most of the time repeating the questions i have already answered during the first interview via phone.
The whole experience felt that:
1. the recruiting process really needs improvement,
2. by the time i was presenting my case study, it felt they already had somebody else in their mind to give the office,
3. in the last interview where i presented my case study, it felt like an interrogation, one of the ladies from the Project Management department even raised a little her tone or tried to intimidate when she was trying to rephrase a question
4. felt that the company tries to get ideas from applicants free of charge which they can further try to see if they can implement internally, pertaining the case study given
After all this, i didn't hear back from them for approximately 2 weeks, when all of a sudden i received an automatic no-reply e-mail telling that they selected a different candidate.
I felt i deserved at least a phone call from HR after going through all this trouble, time and energy spent.
