I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Klarna (Stockholm, Stockholm) in May 2015
Interview
I applied on the Internet for a functional programming developer. I got a reply two days later from their recruiter and we scheduled a screening interview for around 30 mins on Skype. The call went well and I got an email with a logical reasoning test and a programming assignment. The logical test was kind of series of logical shapes that you need to decide on the next matching shape. I think you need to correctly solve 15 out of 18 questions to pass the test. The programming assignment was fun and I worked on it during a weekend, you have 72 hours to send it back.
Fews days later, it was time for the second Skype interview with the development manager and two senior engineers. Everything went well, the guys were really nice and just trying understand what you did before and your areas of interest. Thats when I started to be more excited for the job.
Again, few days later I was offered to come on klarna office and meet the HR, hiring managers and two more senior developers.
The whole process took 5 weeks from the day I applied online until I got the final reply. In total I was interviewed by 9 persons (2 HR, 3 managers, 4 Sr. developers) yet it was a really good experience. All questions where relevant and interesting to solve without any unnecessary complexities. Its one of the best interview experiences I had.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Klarna (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Mar 2020
Interview
The interview process consisted of 5 or 6 interviews. There was one technical coding interview based on a small exercise that you first solve at your own pace. Then, on-site, the interviewer told me to extend and explain my thought process. The other interviews were behavioural and systems design. They expect you to be familiar with the Klarna principles (which they tell you before hand to check) and it was in a relaxed environment. The system designs interview was also fun and made without any criticism or similar. You are one more engineer trying to solve the problem with them. I am really happy with the interviewing process, and it was fun!
