The Process The interview was conducted virtually over Microsoft Teams with the CISO and a Senior Director. The tone was professional and focused heavily on technical proficiency and past project experience. Technical Questions The discussion centered on security operations and tool familiarity. Key areas included: Security Stack: They inquired about my experience with tools like Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel. They also asked if I was familiar with Proofpoint and QualysGuard. Data Loss Prevention (DLP): They asked specifically about my experience implementing or managing DLP and which tools I had used in previous projects. Email Security: Since my resume highlighted email security protocols, we did a deep dive into SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. They wanted to know how these protocols function to secure mail flow. Outcome The interview concluded with a discussion regarding my interest in specializing in certain areas. They asked if I would be comfortable focusing specifically on email security, to which I confirmed that I would be happy to work in that domain.

The interview process was very thorough. It was a 4-stage interview starting with the role's immediate manager, then one manager up, senior level stakeholders, and finally the CMO. Each interview was 30-45 minutes.
