I had received a job offer to work at Lamps Plus. Yippee... The interview itself took no longer than one hour and then I had set a time/date to meet with an “investigator” for the company. First of all, why can’t they just be transparent and say it’s intrusive and long process background check like you’re working for the government. They ask you a serious of questions like “What was the most valuable item you have stoled from your previous employers”. What was your least favorite job and what would they say negative about you? Really? I had completed it and they sent me the offer letter and I signed it right away and consented my life away to my background check. I have extensive work experience so it took FOREVER to get them to get back to me. I took it upon myself to email the manager , it’s not his fault in reality .. he replied after and even asked if I had sent over my consent and signed the offer. I was like yes? Right away, I did.
A week or two goes by and finally I hear from screening and asked for numerous W-2 forms from some employers of mine that haven’t replied. (Again I have extensive work experience) so I said that’s fine I’ll look and send them. Screening called me to let me know that now I only needed one past work employer that I worked for “2-3” years and to send my W-2s. They mentioned they had used a “new” system and couldn’t verify that one employer. I said sure, I send it the next day. As I sent it, HR emailed me and said “In attempts to contact you, we have been unsuccessful” and were rescinding your offer. We wish you many success “
REALLY?!!!!
If you’re reading this, you decide for yourself if you want to work for this company or not. I had declined offers for your company.
Good luck.
