Interview
I went through a full interview loop for an executive role and became a finalist. Right at the end, the CTO froze the pipeline to execute an internal promotion instead. During this phase, the recruiting staff changed, and my progress in the previous process was lost.
Months later, the company reopened the abandoned role and I could finally reconnect a month after re-applying. The new recruiters tried their best to be professional. They promised a long and thorough 4-stage process and stating they were "not in a rush to hire."
Less than a week after the pre-screening, waiting for the next steps, they announced the process was finished after extending a job offer to another candidate, ignoring their own hiring process, disclosed to candidates in the job description, contradicting their own statement of not hiring in a rush.
According to the feedback, the CTO intervened in the process, overriding it for his own needs, undermining the recruiting team structure process.
There is a massive gap between the company’s advertised culture and how it actually operates. The leadership environment is reportedly chaotic, and the hiring process suffers from arbitrary management, turning into false expectations and a waste of time and effort.

Interview
Interview process felt much more corporate and process-heavy than expected for a crypto infrastructure company.
The People Ops stage was heavily focused on culture/vibe fit and conversational style rather than engineering depth or actual infrastructure experience.
Communication after the interview was disappointing. After spending significant time on a live conversation centered around “people and culture”, the rejection arrived as a generic automated no-reply AshbyHQ email with zero personalized feedback.
Technically the company and domain seem interesting. But candidates who prefer direct engineering-oriented communication over polished startup culture conversations may find the process frustrating

Interview
I had an intro call for a Senior Product Designer position. During the first call we covered both the screening part and a basic design discussion. There were also questions about how familiar I was with the company and the product before the call.
The conversation with the recruiter felt constructive and positive.
However, after waiting for more than a week, I received a standard rejection message saying they would not move forward with my application.
I politely asked for feedback to understand what was missing or what could be improved, but unfortunately I did not receive any response.
During the call the company presented itself as very culture-focused, so I was a bit surprised that there was no feedback after the interview, which gave the impression that the strong culture messaging might not fully reflect the actual hiring experience.

Question 1
They asked me to explain in simple words what the company does and what their product is. There were several questions with a similar focus to check how well I understood the company and its product before the interview.
