I was contacted via LinkedIn by an Admin Assistant for the company. They asked to schedule an initial call without asking my availability. Then they proceeded to send a meeting invite for 3 hours prior to the meeting. Mind you, they were 3hrs behind, thus I received the meeting invite at ~5am my time.
I decided to join the call (without time to prepare).
Second interview was with an Executive at the company which was great. Professional and challenging, she was attentive and made me excited about the company.
Third interview was mediocre and was conducted by the sales director in LA. Being as this was a video interview. I made sure to dress accordingly and ensure my computer was ready to go; the interviewer was late and joined the call with his phone. He did not disclose why he was not on video, and I didn’t ask, but I truly expect any interview to set an example for the company, so a heads up that he was joining via phone would have been nice.
Finally, post-third interview, I was asked by the aforementioned Sales Director to write an essay.
AN ESSAY?! For a coordinator role? Not only was it to be 500-1k words, it was to be written in a way in which I would write professionally (sooo a really long email? I was not given a due date and had to ask when they would like the writing sample by, which was odd and not informative To add insult to injury, there was a typo in his email! All around bizarre.
Overall, this was a complete waste of time and energy. Completely disorganized as a “growing” company. Embarrassing and laughable.
