I interviewed with Leica Microsystems for the HRBP Bellevue position. I applied for the position in the first week of November 2021. For the next 2 months I did not receive a call from the recruiter. I received a call from the recruiter in second week of January 2022 that my application is shortlisted for the role. By the time I reached step 5 (finalist process) of the interview it was March 2022 and had invested 5 hours 30 mins in the interview process and had waited 4 months for the interviews to conclude. I wasn’t selected in the final interview and the feedback I received was “I did not have enough US HR experience” though I work at a similar managerial position in US now with additional HR experience working in other countries. It was frustrating that my less years of US HR experience always reflected in my resume, but it became a criterion in the finalist interview. I also had a lot of concerns about the diversity and equity agenda of the company since the final interviewer did not see my diversified experience in HR as a strength but as a weakness.
