Liquid Personnel interview questions

Incredibly unprofessional interview, including justifying lowballing me by making recommendations on how I could save money. Despite saying that they couldn’t believe they found a candidate that fitted the brief so well, they offered me less than my current salary (I had a very upfront conversation with them beforehand about my expectations and they assured me it was within budget) with the ‘promise’ to review in six months if I proved myself (for clarity the job was identical to the one I was currently doing). The interview itself felt like an interrogation, although the role was low to middle weight, with questions that felt like they were aimed at lowering my self-esteem and making me question my ability (such as ‘why did you struggle to find your first job in marketing when you have such a good degree?’) Terrible experience and frustrating to have wasted two hours to be offered less for the same job.

I got a call from the recruitment team who said they wanted to invite me to a “training day.” I accepted and attended. I was not told that there was 11 other candidates. I was also told lunch was provided which it was not. The first thing they did was give us a tour of the whole office which was pointless considering they were only hiring 2 people. After this we were shown a presentation and had to take notes. This was followed by a test which was quite difficult. Next we were put into groups for ice breakers and a team work exercise which had nothing to do with the role we were applying for. After all this, the staff left the room to decide who they would take further for one to one interviews. I was not selected and was basically told to leave then and there. I was quite frustrated at this as I had spent time and money to attend this “interview” and was told absolutely nothing about what would take place. I would have never attended if I knew I wouldn’t get the chance to interview one to one. I think it’s quite a ridiculous process and humiliating. Please do your research into this companies recruitment process before attending. Another girl told me she had already had 2 previous interviews for the role whereas I had nothing. I believe I was just added to make up numbers.
