I applied online. I interviewed at Lucy and Yak (Exeter, England) in May 2026
Interview
Group interview, very relaxed and welcoming, had fidget toys, sweets and water available. Had to answer opening/intro questions, then answer 3 questions from a sheet and share with the group. There were also scenario questions which we answered in small groups. A great environment for an interview.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lucy and Yak (Bristol, England) in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview process consisted of one group interview and one phone interview.
First, we were invited to a 90-minute group interview:
* We were asked to fill out a form providing information on our availability
* We introduced ourselves with some background and a fun fact
* We were given a sheet of 10 questions and were asked to prepare answers to 3 of them, which we then answered in front of the group
* We were given scenarios for us to talk through both as a group and individually
* We were given the opportunity to ask any questions that we had
Then I was emailed, asking to arrange a 15-minute phone interview:
* I was asked questions about my suitability for the role
* I was asked questions on my availability
The store manager and the assistant store manager created such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere which was such a nice change of pace compared to other group interviews I’ve attended in the past which have felt intimidating. We were given a list of questions to choose from and asked to answer 3, we were also given some time to write some notes and prepare our answers for said questions. We were also given a potential scenario and asked what we would do in that situation. Overall it was a wonderful experience and honestly the nicest interview I’ve ever attended.
