I had a chance to get Principal Scientist interview at MSD animal health at Nederland. Application to interview take two month. Had two interview with four senior level scientist. Interview goes well both technical and behavioural and i am confidant that, i am right candidate and will get offer but real answer is very shocking to me. i got this reply from recruiter
"Unfortunately we decided to move forward with other candidates. Not that you didn’t make a good impression, you most certainly did. But we have had the chance to talk to candidates with similar background, but already living in the Netherlands. This is the main reason we choose to move forward with these candidates."
if they want to select local candidate then why he select for interview. onside they are saying supporting diversity & inclusion and another side say prefer local candidates.

Long drawn out interview with 9-10 interviewers. Start early in the morning until 4:30 PM. Be prepared for an exhausting day. The interview will be mix of strategy, behavioral and technical questions.

1 hour waste of time call with an admin asking me all kinds of unrelated, non-technical questions and then telling me they'd get back and not responding, ever. It became clear to me that this was a person who didn't know what or why or how they were doing what they were doing. If you're hiring for senior technical positions, please put talent in from of people who know why or what they are doing.

Proprietary: but all were soft questions. I could have talked about being a tailor or a plumber or a principal scientist, the outcome would have been the same
Application process was straight forward. Had an interview with HR and then with the Department. The I had another interview to meet the rest of the team after being offered the job.
