    Customer Success Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mailjet (New York, NY) in March 2017.

    Interview

Initial phone screen with member of the team and then an in-person interview. Phone screen was with a member of the US team and the Paris team. Things went decent, but they ultimately asked me to come into the office. I met with 3 members of the team in-person, but they seemed to only care about culture fit and not much else. Definitely a nice time, but they said they would follow up at the end of the week, but the radio has been silent.

    Communications Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Mailjet (New York, NY).

    Interview

It was pretty awful. The first interview was a phone interview, and that was fine. The second interview was a Skype interview, but due to issues on my part, it was turned into a phone interview. That was fine, but it was just the interviewer shooting out question after question after question. I would give answers and try to foster some sort of conversation, but her responses were always either "okay" or "anything else?" as if the information I was offering wasn't ever enough. It was really stressful, and I definitely didn't perform to the best of my ability because I couldn't relax when speaking to her. In the end, I was offered feedback where she expressed confusion and frustration that I didn't sign up for an account with Mailjet prior to my interview. You guys send out transactional and marketing emails... why would I sign up for that?! Overall it was very intense and unpleasant.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mailjet (Toronto, ON (Canada)).

    Interview

I was referred by someone on the team. That help accelerate the process a little. I had to do 3 additional video interviews over 2 weeks. Overall straightforward and simple Q&A. Smooth process. I got an offer shortly after.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Mailjet (Paris (France)) in April 2016.

    Interview

After applying directly online, i was contacted by the company to schedule a Skype interview a few days later. I waited at the agreed time but recieved no contact from the hiring manager. 24 hours later the manager contacted me, saying that the interview would be rescheduled in 10 days.

At the time of writing, the company has become non-responsive and it is now 13 days after the employer no-showed the interview.

    Country Manager Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    Declined Offer
    Negative Experience

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Mailjet.

    Interview

The first round was extremely interesting, challenging from the questions with fairness (which is good) and also gave background to the company, the line manager and the objectives and expectations for the position. I very much enjoyed it.

The second, however, was a no go. Since I came through to the second round interview, I spoke with the CEO. He seemed to have no interest in the actual points of talk. He did ask questions on my education, work background and future aspirations, so the process was a logical one. But he dismantled every single answer with no respect to compare with French elite standards - Prep school, HEC...etc. I really do not mind a good challenge, and it is fine not to be a fit, but the exchange needs to be respectful in the tone of the conversation, the body language and all that comes into play. Unfortunately, all of the above lacked. I have interviewed and worked in startups for years, but never had anything like this, ever. It isn't testing people, it is insulting them. It was appalling.

Consequently, I sent an e-mail out to withdraw my application.

    ORM Consultant Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Paris (France)

    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Mailjet (Paris (France)) in January 2017.

    Interview

By email and then by phone. the discussion was open and friendly. The interviewer was very specific about the needs and the expectations. Slightly disconcerting at first, but that rigour forced me to think, and I think I ended up giving better interview than I would otherwise have done

    Head of Marketing Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Paris (France)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Mailjet (Paris (France)) in July 2019.

    Interview
