My interview with MGA was quite disappointing and fell short of what I expected. When I opened the video call, I saw a man and a woman who were very different from the people shown in the introductory video. Their body language immediately gave me the impression that they were not enthusiastic about seeing me and seemed reluctant to conduct the interview.
During the interview, they asked the usual standard questions: who I am, my previous roles, which position I liked the most, and my plans. However, the female interviewer, in particular, frequently misinterpreted my answers and twisted them to fit her own perspective. I had to clarify and correct her several times because what I said was being taken out of context.
Meanwhile, the manager interviewing me was distracted, working on his computer and not fully engaged in the conversation. They showed very little involvement, and after about fifteen minutes, it seemed like they just wanted to end the interview quickly.
When asked what I understood about the role, I gave a clear answer, but they reacted with “Is that all?” It’s worth mentioning that the job advertisement was extremely vague, making it almost impossible to know exactly what was expected.
Only toward the end did the interview flow a bit better. When I asked questions about the daily responsibilities of the role, the female interviewer said that I would probably receive feedback from my recruiter. She then admitted that, in her opinion, the interview didn’t go well.
Overall, they showed NO genuine interest or engagement, and I got the strong feeling that they were going through the motions because they had to, possibly with another candidate already in mind.
I hope MGA improves its interview process to be more respectful and transparent toward candidates.
