Conversation with recruiter followed by hiring manager conversation. At least that is what I was told. I only had a conversation with recruiter. They set up a calendar invite for me to talk to thr hiring manager but instead of hiring manager another recruiter showed up for that call, wasting my time. I really wasn't sure if Mapbox is something I should even consider so I paused the interview process a few months ago to get back to it if it still seemed like a good place to work. at the time recuriter was like, let me know when you are ready and I will set up time with the hiring manager even if it is in a few months. When I finally decided to give Mapbox a chance I contacted the recruiter again over email and she set up an interview with hiring manager. The interview very explicitly said I will be talking to the hiring manager but instead some other recuriter showed up on the call and started asking me we why I dropped the process in the middle and how Mapbox is not my priority and he wanted to know where and what I was doing in the last few months (with dates and my travels etc) for why I dropped the idea of interview. He was literally asking me my travel dates and details that was way too personal. I literally had to say, dude I do not care to share share that information with you because you do not need to know why I decided to pause the interview process. Honestly I wasn't sure if it is even a good company. And now reading the reviews it seems horrible and this recruiter put a rubber stamp on it by proving that everything in those reviews is accurate. I am glad I did not waste anymore time with these guys. It seems like a messed up culture. rude and unprofessional.
