I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Mathnasium (Las Vegas, NV) in Jul 2023
Interview
Not an interview, more of a screening. When asked what days I was able to interview I provided 4 full days of availability. None of the information I mentioned to the first person was shared with any other person in the interview process. You are a cog in their machine. It's obvious that they do not care about their employees and are just trying to fill empty spots with bodies.
They have you take a math test ranging from elementary to algebra II topics. If you pass, you will be scheduled for a 2nd interview where you will have some sort of “mock session” where they will see how you would tutor someone.
The interview process did not mention the exam that they administer so this was unexpected 2.5 hours live exam for a teenager who tried to get a part time job. He passed but the business ghosted him afterwards without any replies to follow ups. For a business that is centered around education is completely unacceptable behavior towards young people. The least you can do is to send 2 sentence email that the candidate did not make it especially when they passed your two hour test. They should not be allowed to teach young people with such approach to high school students during the interview process.
Math questions from all levels. Basics to grade 12 math. Techniques to teach, times tables, Lin algebra. Sat me down, asked me to do a test and spoke to me about some questions related to tutor experience
