I recently went through a lengthy interview process with Mediaplus Engine that lasted about 5 weeks. The process included multiple rounds with team leads and senior leadership for a Project Manager role supposedly managing BMW/MINI campaigns across 24 markets.
The interviews themselves were professional, and the team seemed knowledgeable about digital marketing. However, I was disappointed to learn at the very end of the process that they didn't offer me the position because they had actually lost the BMW/MINI account to another agency during a pitch that was happening simultaneously with my interviews. What frustrated me was the lack of transparency. Throughout the entire process, they described the team as "extremely busy" with BMW/MINI work and emphasized how urgently they needed someone with my skills to manage the workload. They even shared positive client feedback and high ratings from BMW. At no point did anyone mention that these accounts were actually in review and might not be there by the time I joined. While I understand business realities change, I wish they had been upfront about the situation from the beginning rather than having me invest over a month in a role that was contingent on them winning a pitch. A simple disclosure would have set proper expectations.
