I was asked to confirm if I'm pre-med and was asked where I stand/what I've been up to in my progress towards hopefully getting into a med school. I wasn't asked but I shared why I did EMS training and looked into working as an EMT and related jobs. Jackie also asked if I'm looking to work part-time (1 shift/week) or full-time (3 shifts/week) and when I can start. Much of the half hour total interview was then spent in asking questions after I said I wanted to consider more about Medex and other job offers before accepting/starting. I asked about pay (starting $18-$19/hour), the "Lurie's" team, and shared that I had a good experience during a ride-along and that I value their great/organized communication whenever I tried to reach them and their culture of compassion and connection within the team and with patients. Jackie shared more about the female! owner of the company, commented on the contrast between the work of some ambulance companies and that of hers/Medex, and shared about their unique opportunities like the "Lurie's" and "U-Chicago" teams.
