It was a standard phone screen with a recruiter. The recruiter was very personable and friendly. It was a comfortable conversation about my professional experience, about the company and how my experience could be applied to the position they were seeking. What is EXTREMELY disappointing is that I was told by the recruiter he received "positive feedback" about my interview with the hiring manager(s). I was told I should hear something within 1-2 weeks and then I followed up with a customary "status" email. I never heard from anyone within the company again. There was no follow up, no "canned" email that told me I didn't get the position, no call from anyone. I had to find out by seeing a re-post of the position over a month later. I felt like they strung me along and then I was actually "ghosted". For a company this size, I feel it lacks professional courtesy and is a really poor way to try to attract talent. If a candidate takes time out of their day to speak to you on the telephone (a few times for about an hour per call) then drives to your location and spends almost 90 minutes or longer touring the facility and discussing the position that you brought them in for, at the very least - an email stating you didn't get the position isn't an unreasonable ask. It lacks professional integrity.
