I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Meijer (Troy, OH) in Dec 2012
Interview
Very stern and to the point. When I mentioned my son's school schedule the topic was dismissed and I was advised to locate a better babysitter. The interviewer was prior service and thanked me for my service and offered me the job almost immediately.

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meijer
Interview
I began the process by visiting their booth at our campus career fair. After reviewing over my resume, I was offered an interview which took place the next day. It was a simple one on one interview with a director, and consisted of standard behavioral questions for about 30 min. Two weeks later, I received a call from HR which turned into a sort of impromptu phone interview that lasted 45 min. I was told at the end of the call that I would be able to sign up for an interview at their headquarters.
The final round consisted of three 30 minute long interviews that took place in succession with different interviewers. The first of the three was more of a discussion rather than a strict interview. My interviewer was a super nice guy who just wanted to get to know me on a personal level. The next was more of a behavioral question grilling. My interviewer seemed quite stern and unamused and gave me question after question for the entire 30 minutes. Lastly, my interviewer asked me questions specifically about my previous jobs and experience, so it is important to know your resume well.
After all the interviews were finished, I was given an assessment that contained behavioral questions, math, and word problems. It isn't too hard and they let you use a calculator so it was nothing to stress over. The whole process took about 4 hours from start to finish, but went by quickly due to the friendly nature of everyone you interact with.
