I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Meta (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2018
Interview
First applied through a reference and got an email from the recruiter for scheduling a technical interview over the phone. Was given enough days for preparation and a couple of reference videos as well which are there on facebook's career page.
The interview lasted for 45 minutes. Was asked only one question. Interviewer introduced themselves and directly jumped on to the problem. Gave me 5-10 minutes in the end to ask questions.
Good experience as it was my first interview ever and that too with Facebook. Lacked Practice.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Given an integer represent it in its String/Word format?
Example - Input: 800/ Output: Eight Hundred. Since its an integer and I chose Java so by default the range was few Billions inclusive of negative integers as well. (Input: -800/ Output: Negative Eight Hundred)
There were an excessive amount of rounds with a high difficulty of questions for a new grad role. Everyone I spoke too was very friendly though! Study hard and you may be okay.
Asked me two leetcode hard style questions and I knew it was over for me. Interviewer was nice and tried to guide me along the right path but the question just wasnt clicking with me.
2 tech, 1 behavioral
Tech were basic LC questions mostly from Meta tagged
Behavioral was also standard tell me about a time questions and deep dive into a project. A tech person was taking my behavioral, so went deep into why I used that tech and similar questions
