I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta in Sep 2021
Interview
I spoke with a recruiter on the phone first. It was a 45 minute call and we covered work history, career goals, and compensation.
After that, I scheduled a 2-hour interview with team members. I understood this interview is conducted by rotating members of the product design teams. They all take turns. The first hour of the interview was spent on my portfolio, I presented while they asked questions throughout and after. I was struck by how impersonal it was and also how little I was able to present in that time frame after questions.
The second hour of the interview was 1-on-1 looking at Yelp and discussing how to make it better.

Question 1
Walk through your design process
What product or feature could be added to Yelp to make it better?
The recruiter is very supportive. First round is a deck presentation. Second round is full loop: deck+ BQ+ whiteboard+ app critique. The Overall experience is good, it takes around a whole month
Straightforward like any big tech interview, but long and intense. Formats are pretty standardized so it just takes practice. Questions appear like it's from a bank, so if you're prepared you should be fine.

Interview
I was reached out by a recruiter. Started with the recruiter call, then portfolio presentation, then full loop (Portfolio presentation - app critique - design challenge - background). They had very strong emphasis on design craft and visual excellence. Recruiter who helped me prep was very nice and helpful.
