The interview was pretty normal and not really that detailed, I was asked some test questions and a little bit about my previous job. I was told that I would be a good fit and I then asked what the starting pay was “ I originally applied for an appointment setter which was advertised at $15-$18 per hour” once they found out about my experience I was offered this position” I asked what the pay was and I was told $15 an hour with 10 hours a week overtime, the hours we’re mon-fri 7-5 at $15 , I said I was expecting more because of my experience and that’s why I applied “ remember it’s listed at $15-$18 for an appointment setter” this is assistant manager and it’s $15 , I was told they would present it to their boss and see what he said. So the original offer was $1050.00 a week or $54,600 annually
And I was asking for more. I literally received a phone call that following day and the manager said I am going to make you an offer, He said I am going to offer you salary at $40k a year and I need you Monday through Saturday 7am -5pm that’s 10 extra hours with a total of 60 hours a week and literally at $769.00 a week that is a $281 difference with an additional 10 hour shift, they offer no benefits and didn’t even ask if I could work overtime. So I get that we didn’t agree but why couldn’t I apply for the original position I was interested in ? Why would you say one thing and then lower it that much with no explanation. Please don’t apply with them and save yourself a headache.
