Hiring Manager seemed very inexperienced and took the first 30 minutes of our 45 minute schedule talking about himself and his personal accomplishments. No big deal, thought we could move on from there.
Transitioned to talking a bit about the company and the role, then back to his accomplishments. In the end we had very little time left to discuss my experience and I had no more than a minute or two for additional questions.
I got the vibe right away that the hiring manager wanted to be the smartest guy in the room and was looking for a less experienced person for this position. Since that wasn't me, I could tell I wouldn't be considered for this role. This was challenging because the position seemed cool, and am confident I could have helped them accomplish their goals.
We discussed next step expectations for the following week. Left two voicemails after receiving no follow up, eventually gave up after never getting a response.
Disappointed but not surprised, was a little shocked at the lack of professionalism, however.
