I interviewed for the role of Senior Software Engineer. I applied to the position through a referral. There were 2 rounds of interview with the VP and SVP of the Software Engineering team.
Interviews were completed within two week from the date of application. Engineering team interviewers were very professional. They deserved to be in their respective positions.
After a week the recruitment coordinator asked me to forward my current employment details, payslip and other identity proof documents.
After almost 4 weeks the recruiter schedules a HR discussion.
Best part starts now, This is the first company which I have seen in my career where a recruitment coordinator from the talent acquisition does the salary negotiation. This company does not seem to have a HR Manager / Hiring Manger for conducting salary negotiations.
The recruitment coordinator was the most aggressive, unprofessional, unorganised etc.. I have met in the recent times. I wasn't even updated about feedback received from my 2 interview rounds. Straight away the recruitment coordinator just gives me some ball park number, based on some calculation and mathematical knowledge and say they have a budget constraint and cannot offer more. This ball park number was not even 10% more from my current salary. I request for salary breakup sent in a mail to check whether I really gain any benefits with this job offer. My request was declined terming as it was matter of confidentiality. I did not request for an offer letter with salary breakup, I only requested for salary breakup, which some companies do provide as a Letter of Intent. This Letter of Intent cannot be used for better salary negotiations with other companies.
If they had a budget constraint why wasn't I informed during the initial application process?
After the salary discussion there was no update for a week. I sent a mail to check if they are willing to have a further discussion, just for formality. As expected there was no reply.
Does this kind of attitude towards the applicants justify professional ethics of the Company? Why should the company waste applicants time on interviews with the engineering team?
Does Moody’s Investor Service or Moody’s Analytics have any moral ground to analyse a country / company credentials? Why am I saying this: The recruitment coordinators introductory mail about the opportunity with Moody’s Investor Service is an outdated content, probably copy & pasted from their colleagues. It gives a glimpse of the company financial, employee count and presence which was way back in the year 2012.
