I applied online and received a call from the recruiter after a few days. The first thing he discussed and clarified was the max salary for this position, which was far below the market standards and my expectations.
Had one technical interview with another lead engineer and another one with the hiring manager.
I cleared the rounds and then received an email asking for my previous offer letter, last 3 pay slips, and any other counter offer I was holding. I shared all the documents and information in order though found it unethical on part of Morningstar to ask for this private information on my former employers. Nevertheless, the even sadder part is that the HR conducted another interview with me to again ask or verify all the same information from me only to tell me that I'm not getting anything more than what they had initially told me on phone but rather would need to submit a proof of declining the other job offer, if and when I may join Morningstar. Hence, essentially their request for documents was for the sole and only purpose of negotiating an even lower salary than their budget no matter what was the market rate or what I had been offered alternatively.
Despite me going through this unpleasant experience and disclosure, the HR and company ghosted me without extending any actual offer and just kept me waiting for over a week and begging for more.
One of the most pathetic experiences ever!
