Generally, I enjoyed this interview process in the moment. The people were friendly and the technical test was interesting.
The positives end there though. They're either not intending to fill this role, or are waiting for a magical unicorn to knock on their door.
I ticked many of the boxes. I was up front with my shortcomings and explained I was willing to put the work in to make up that gap. I'm wanting to relocate and settling down in the area so their investment in some light upskilling wouldn't be a waste.
Unfortuntately I didn't receive an offer, which is a shame, because I was genuinely excited about working here. Just another company that fails to train their staff and expects workers to do it on their own time so they can reap all the benefits with none of the costs.
