I applied directly and within 2 days received an email which stated “The manager would like to discuss with you”. I wasn’t sure if this was an interview or a general chat, luckily I prepared for a proper interview. The two interviewers were great and really put me at ease. It was my first interview in 5 years and it felt like a comfortable chat about my experience and goals for future. 2 days later I got a call from head office HR to give me “feedback”. The only feedback was that the interview had gone really well, but they had another candidate to interview and I’d hear back the following week. 10 days went by and I had heard nothing, so I emailed the first person who had emailed me. No response. The next day I received an email simply directing me to a survey on the interview process which I dutifully filled out. Afterwards I re-read the email and found at the bottom “our recruiters will keep your details on file and my contact you if other suitable positions become available.” I had still had no direct email or phone call to confirm the outcome of my interview. So I rang the Cardiff office and spoke to a lady who said she had no knowledge of the process, but that if it was with the 2 people I said then it would probable be another 2 weeks until I found out. I’m still waiting... they seem a nice company to work for but my goodness the quality of contact during the interview process is diabolical and I actually feel a little rude.
