      Java Tech Lead Interview

      Jul 20, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at N26 in Jul 2016

      Interview

The whole interview process was pretty fast, having just a few days from the HR to the technical interview. As mentioned before, HR team members are very polite and they make sure to give you a detailed idea about what they can offer and what you may expect by working at Number26. I had a tech interview with their Head of Development. Questions were not so difficult but I misunderstood one about scalability and I was not able to solve the coding problem. Tip: I was not expecting a tricky coding question so, take a look into some ACM-ICPC problems or get a book about coding competition problems (it will help you for this and next interviews). Some things came to my attention: - The technical interview is done by one person and, consequently, just one point of view is given to the company about you. - At some point, I think my interviewer got impatient because he was checking his watch very often. By watching his behavior, I tried to identify if I was the main cause (asking for more details related with his technical questions), if he had another appointment or something else.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I won't share specific questions but they were related with: database, scalability, event processing (somehow), team management, conflict resolution.
