I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NASA (Houston, TX) in Jul 2020
Interview
Applied through the NASA Internships portal. Received an email asking me to schedule an interview. Interview was a call with the project lead for about 45 minutes, during which he described the project and I explained my background, trying to highlight how it is a good fit for the project. Was given an internship offer about 1 week later via email.
A behavioral interview with a contractor, which acts common interview questions. The only odd one is about how you contribute to diversity/inclusion. Once you get an interivew, your chances of getting the actual offer is high.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at NASA in Jul 2024
Interview
Was laid back and not super technical. I did an OSTEM internship and it was a very good experience; the interview just felt like a conversation. It was conducted with on person, and seemed to be mostly behavioral.

I applied and received an offer a few months later. No interview. They did reach out and confirm I was still interested though about a week before extending the offer.
