      Intern Interview

      Feb 15, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Portland, OR
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NIKE (Portland, OR) in Jan 2020

      Interview

Applied in early October to multiple internship opportunities. Didn't hear anything until late December (thought it was a reject-ghost at that point and was not actively following up or keeping tabs on it). Received an email requesting an interview. Scheduled for early January. Spoke to a university recruiter for 30 minutes about intern offerings and answering questions mainly gauging interest in Nike, your values, and relevant skills or projects. Mainly behavioral questions. Was told that next round would be mid January and offers would be made in late January. Got an email two weeks later to schedule two 45-minute video calls with specific teams. Spoke to team managers and directors. These calls were more technical. Went into details about projects, spoke about interests within the domains of my projects, decisions made, skills learned, technologies used. No leetcode type questions. Best way to describe it is Nike wants to gauge your interest and competence. Mostly, they aren't trying to figure out the extent of your knowledge (maybe a couple super in depth questions). If you can speak to your projects, decisions, skills with confidence and understanding (and you know what you don't know - you are not expected to know everything), you will be fine. About 30-35 minutes about you and you get the rest to ask questions. Received an offer the next week. Whole process took just over a month. Easygoing and fairly transparent groups and process.
