I applied on a job board and scheduled for an interview two weeks later. The interview seemed to have gone well with the hiring manager claiming to stay tuned next week for next steps. Two weeks passed and did not get a response until I reached out to hr. HR eventually got back with a standard reply stating they moved on with another candidate. It's a problem when HR or the hiring managers say things they never plan on doing. It's unprofessional because it distorts expectations.
