I received an invitation to interview through my school's career center. After I was scheduled for an interview, I was asked to attend a dinner with the hiring team the night before the interview was supposed to happen. It was fantastic, the dinner really helped me feel comfortable with the hiring manager and software engineers that I was supposed to meet with the next day. The interview itself was very relaxed; I was interviewed by a hiring manager and one software engineer. We discussed the projects listed on my resume and there were no technical questions other than being asked for extra details about said projects. It was actually decided during the interview that I probably wouldn't be a good fit for their department based on my lack of AI experience, but I still left feeling great about the whole interview experience. Two days later, I received a follow up email confirming that I was no longer going to be considered.
